Course Title:  AutoCAD 2008/2009/2010 Fundamentals Hours: 40
Focus: Comprehensive AutoCAD 2008/2009/2010    
Pre-Requisites: Basic computer skills    
Description: Intended for individuals with little or no AutoCAD experience, this course will take students through the most essential concepts in a streamlined, step-by-step manner with the goal of quickly enabling them to create meaningful output.
 
   
Topics Covered: Introduction to the AutoCAD environment, data input, basic object drawing, editing & modifying commands, using precision & accuracy tools, creating & using layers, entering & editing text, creating & modifying fills & cross-hatching, creating blocks, creating arrays, creating and editing dimension, basic plotting, and isometric drawing.    
Students: New AutoCAD Users    
  The primary difference between the Fundamentals and Essentials course is the amount of hands-on content.  The 5 day course provides much more hands-on practice time, and is a more effective course at teaching the core concepts of AutoCAD.    
 
Course Title:  AutoCAD Quick Start for Project Managers 2008/2009/2010 Hours: 8
Focus: Project Managers     
Pre-Requisites: Basic computer skills    
Description: This well-received course covers the basic “Top 40” AutoCAD commands.     
Topics Covered: Open, close, save drawings.  Layers, Object Snaps, Pan, Zoom, Copy, Rotate, Erase, Scale.  Intro to blocks, dimensioning, plotting.  Text, creating PDFs and DWFs.

Course Title:  AutoCAD 2008/2009/2010 Essentials  Hours:

Focus: AutoCAD 2008/2009/20102009 Basics    
Pre-Requisites: Basic Computer Skills    
Description: Learn how to create & edit professional 2D drawings in 24 hours. This introductory course shows the AutoCAD 2009 interface but it can be used to teach or learn both AutoCAD or LT using the 2009 versions. Even students with no previous CAD experience can progress quickly through the 12 modules in this which are arranged in a natural sequence that is easy to understand. Students immediately apply what they have learned from brief theory presentations in hands-on exercises using supplied drawing files. These exercises include step-by-step instructions along with clearly illustrated screen captures.

Course Title:  Upgrading  to AutoCAD 2010 Hours: 8
Pre-Requisites: The student should be an experienced AutoCAD user and/or have completed the AutoCAD Level 1course.    
Description: This course is designed for the experienced AutoCAD user who is moving to the latest release of AutoCAD software, AutoCAD 2009. This course includes practical hands-on exercises to give participants experience in using and understanding the features and functionality of the new product and the changes that they will experience when moving from AutoCAD to AutoCAD 2009. The primary objective of this course is to teach the student how to transition from previous AutoCAD releases to AutoCAD 2009 and how to work productively using the latest features and functionality of AutoCAD 2009.

Course Title: AutoCAD Architecture 2010 Hours:

Description: The AutoCAD Architecture 2009 comprehensive training course is designed for the user who wants to learn the functionality offered in the object-based AutoCAD Architecture software. This course uses hands-on exercises to leverage the student’s prior AutoCAD experience to master the AA2009 functionality

From setting up a new project through the main AA2009 functionality, including productivity enhancements such as the recent Input menu, dynamic Input, editing objects in isolated views, use in-place editing to modify a curtain wall, create and use project standards in a project, use display themes, AEC materials and usable boundaries on a space object., create a schedule tag using the schedule tag wizard, create a tool catalog using the tool catalog generator, edit a keynote database using the Keynote Editor..

Pre-Requisites: Basic knowledge and experience with AutoCAD is necessary. Previous Architectural Desktop or Autodesk Architecture experience is a plus. It is recommended that you have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2000, or Windows NT

Course Title:  AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 Essentials Hours:

Description: This hands-on foundation-level course covers the essentials of AutoCAD Civil 3D. Your instructor will teach you about the key features of AutoCAD Civil 3D, how to create a survey plan and a topographic survey drawing, and how to lay out roadways and subdivision lots. In this course you use AutoCAD Civil 3D to perform land development activities for a sample project. This course is designed to teach essential AutoCAD Civil 3D concepts and applications over a three-day period.    
 
   
Pre-Requisites: Before starting this course, you should be able to create, open, and save drawing files; change the display of a drawing by zooming and panning; display and dock toolbars; save and restore named views; use object snaps; and manage layers and control layer visibility.

Course Title:  Revit Architecure 2008/2009/2010 Fundamentals Hours:

Focus: Autodesk Revit Fundamentals is a 3-day course that covers the basics, from design through construction documentation. Students will be introduced to the tools and concepts of working with a fully parametric building modeler. Hands-on time is maximized to reinforce the subject matter. The primary objective of the course is to familiarize students with the concept and application of Autodesk Revit. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to use Revit to create a project design and documents. Learn the basics of creating and customizing Revit components. Review how to apply the tools and techniques of Autodesk Revit in your project design and documents.
 
   
Pre-Requisites: No previous CAD experience necessary. However, drafting, design or engineering experience is a plus. A working knowledge of the Windows-based operating systems is preferred.  
 
   
Concentration: Overview of Autodesk Revit Concepts, starting Revit Projects, designing with Components, defining new family types, working with roofs and floors, creating vertically compound wall, creating schedules, documenting the design, detailing with Autodesk Revit.
 
   
       

 


Custom Training
Robotech CAD Knowledge Center offers customized training programs both on-site and at our facility in Depauville, NY. Classes are offered for all supported Autodesk products.

Custom Training includes an initial meeting with an accredited trainer to discuss the student’s applications, environment and goals. A customized program is then put together, complete with class schedule and prices for review. 
Classes are customized to reflect the student or company’s everyday use of the software package, thereby creating “real life” situations. The instructor will tailor your AutoCAD drawing standards to your organization structure and conventions.

These hands-on classes last one day to five days depending on the complexity of the course material. Classes that are more than two days are normally spaced out to allow the student time to practice and absorb the material. All classes include training materials.
